As part of its 60th anniversary celebrations, Ilkley Civic Society recently obtained consent to repaint the two remaining stone pillars that were installed along the frontage of The Spa buildings on The Grove . The stone pillars used to be gateposts to a footpath leading to the old Spa building. They remained there after the 1864 building was demolished and after the current building replaced it in 2005 and over the years the paintwork had become very tired.

Before and after photographs show the difference it has made and it now highlights these historic remains in this prominent location in the town centre.
