What do we do?

  • We comment on national legislation and respond to government consultations, for example within the last year, the Planning White Paper, Statements of Community Involvement, Statutory Consultee Status and Permitted Development Rights.
  • We have responded to each stage of consultation on the Bradford Local Plan and have been involved from its inception in the Ilkley Neighbourhood Plan.
  • We meet with various organisations throughout the year where interests overlap including Ilkley BID, Climate Action Ilkley, our MP and attend some Ilkley Town Council meetings ( Full council and Planning sub committee).
  • ICS Committee members sat on the group that developed the current Neighbourhood Plan (2020-2030) and have been invited to sit on the new group that is to update the plan for 2031-2040.

All of our comments are available to the public and we are happy to discuss plans with owners, developers, neighbours and civic society members when needed
